Funchal, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - Maritimo named Rui Rodrigues its new head coach on Monday, taking over for Mariano Barreto who resigned last week.

Rodrigues, nicknamed Juca, is being promoted from his post as the club's youth team coach. The 50-year-old also coached the first team and was the caretaker manager.

Maritimo is eighth in the Superliga standings with 36 points through 26 games.
