Milwaukee, WI (My Sportsbook) - The Milwaukee Brewers signed pitcher Rick Helling to a minor league contract on Thursday. Helling, 34, spent the entire 2004 season in the minors, posting a combined 3-6 mark with a 6.26 ERA in 12 starts. The deal includes an invitation to major league spring training. Helling made his Major League debut with the Texas Rangers in 1994 and has also played in the Majors for Florida, Arizona and Baltimore. In 266 major league games, he has compiled a 90-78 mark with a 4.77 ERA including 10 complete games and four shutouts. |
