=== Pirates ink Wells to one-year deal === Pittsburgh, PA (My Sportsbook) - The Pittsburgh Pirates Thursday agreed to terms on a one-year contract with right-handed pitcher Kip Wells. The 27-year-old Wells started 24 games last season for the Pirates and posted a 5-7 record with a 4.55 ERA. He spent time on the disabled list with inflammation in his throwing elbow. Wells has spent six years in the majors with the Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh and owns a career mark of 47-51 with a 4.20 ERA. On Wednesday, the club came to terms on a one-year deal with righthander Brian Meadows. |
