Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The Denver Broncos could have Brian Griese back at quarterback on Sunday against the New York Jets and tight end Shannon Sharpe may also return to the lineup. Griese has missed the last two games with a sprained left knee and Sharpe has been sidelined for three games with a shoulder injury. They are each listed as probable on Denver's injury report. Both practiced on Wednesday and head coach Mike Shanahan was encouraged with the results. "[Griese] worked out good yesterday, didn't have any swelling and looked like he was 100 percent today," said Shanahan. "Shannon looked good last week and got a chance to block a little bit today. He should be able to go at full strength." The Broncos have lost two in a row with Griese out. Steve Beuerlein did not play poorly in the two losses -- both in overtime -- against Indianapolis and San Diego, although he did throw four interceptions. Denver is 7-5 and sits one game behind AFC West co-leaders Oakland and San Diego. Griese was forced to leave a 31-9 win over Seattle on November 17 due to the injury. He has thrown for 2,603 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season. "I am going to play," Griese said Wednesday. "The knee is getting better every day. There are still times when I feel it, but there's no more time, no more grace period. It's time to get back out there." Sharpe hasn't played since a November 11 game against Oakland when he was hurt after Raiders' linebacker Bill Romanowski fell on him. The All-Pro tight end has been wearing a brace on his shoulder during practice.
