Orlando, FL (My Sportsbook) - University of Florida junior tailback Ciatrick Fason declared himself eligible for the NFL draft on Wednesday. "The University of Florida has always been special to me and I would like to thank everyone for making it a great experience," said Fason. "I remember coming to Florida on my recruiting visit and having tears in my eyes the first time I came into The Swamp. It was a decision that was on my mind the entire season, but I did not let it become a distraction. Instead, it made me work even harder." Heading into the Peach Bowl, Fason has 1,783 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in his tenure at Florida. This season, Fason has rushed for 1,173 yards and 10 scores on 205 carries. "The choice came down to a decision I had to make for my wife and our two children. I believe the program is in great shape and that Gator fans should be excited about the future. I intend to complete my education down the road." Collegiate underclassmen have until January 15, 2005 to declare for the NFL Draft and have until January 18, 2005 to withdraw their name.
