Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (My Sportsbook) - Sao Caetano has been deducted 24 points by a Brazilian sports court for allowing Serginho to compete despite heart problems. The defender collapsed during a match at Sao Paulo in October. Serginho, 30, subsequently died of heart failure. The court also suspended club doctor Paulo Forte for four years and club president Nairo Ferreira for two years. Police are investigating the incident and could charge the club officials criminally. The deduction causes Sao Caetano to fall from fourth to 15th place in the Brasileirao. The club plans to appeal, although it is not in danger of being relegated. There are two matches remaining in the season.
