Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Minor League Baseball announced its postseason award winners with the Rochester Red Wings and Altoona Curve winning team recognition and Carolyn McKee and Saul Gonzalez getting individual accolades. Rochester won the John H. Johnson President's Trophy, which is presented to honor the complete baseball franchise. Altoona, an Eastern League expansion team that has been in existence for five seasons, will be awarded the Larry MacPhail Trophy. Given to the team that symbolizes the top promotion effort, Altoona has set attendance records every season and finished the year at 394,000. Winning the Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year was Carolyn McKee. The Director of Business Operations for the Asheville Tourists in the South Atlantic League, McKee has been with the team in some capacity for 25 years. Honoring outstanding service to a league, the Warren Giles Award will be presented to Saul Gonzalez of the Venezuelan Summer League. Aside from coordinating travel, clubhouse staff, equipment and uniforms for the entire league in addition to the usual aspects of running a league such as scheduling and playing sites. Furthermore, Gonzalez has the added task of overcoming the political and financial instability in Venezuela. The awards will be presented during the baseball winter meetings in December.
