Moscow, Russia (My Sportsbook) - Lokomotiv Moscow won the Russian Premier League championship on the final day of the season with a 2-0 victory over Shinnik Yaroslavl. Lokomotiv finished one point ahead of last year's champions CSKA Moscow. CSKA had the lead with two matches remaining in the season, but a draw last week opened the door for Lokomotiv to jump ahead. Lokomotiv did not miss the opportunity and beat Torpedo Moscow by a score of 3-1, then used goals from youngsters Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Dmitri Sychev to clinch the title on Friday. The triumph allowed Lokomotiv to capture the league championship for the second time in three seasons. It also secured a spot for the club in the 2005/06 Champions League competition. CSKA, which still has a chance to advance to the knockout phase of this season's Champions League competition, earns a spot in next season's UEFA Cup.
