Utrecht, the Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - FC Utrecht has an opportunity to revive its season when it hosts a hot PSV Eindhoven team Friday.

Utrecht started off the season strong, winning five of its first seven Eredivisie matches and qualifying for the group stage of the UEFA Cup. However, the club has cooled recently, dropping two straight domestic clashes to Groningen and Heerenveen. To make matters worse, the Dutch side lost its opening UEFA Cup group stage encounter to Spanish side Real Zaragoza, 2-0.

"Everyone can have an off day during a season, that is inevitable," said Utrecht coach Foeke Booy. "But you must be able to rely on the fighting spirit if you are unable to win the match by playing football."

Utrecht is expected to be without goalkeeper Joost Terol, who tore a thigh muscle during the loss to Zaragoza. Terol, 24, could be out four weeks.

PSV comes into the match brimming with confidence after a 2-0 win over arch- rival Ajax last Sunday. However, starting goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and midfielder John de Jong are out after suffering injuries during the win. PSV is tied atop the table with Feyenoord, and also has a game in hand as they expect to receive three points from an abandoned match at Den Haag on October 16.

PSV will be trying not to look ahead to its crucial Champions League match against Rosenborg on Tuesday. PSV leads a crowded Group E with six points from three games.

In other Eredivisie action this weekend, Ajax will be desperate for points when it hosts NEC on Sunday. The Dutch power finds itself in an unfamiliar seventh place in the table, and will be without goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont Sunday. The Romanian international injured his knee against PSV and could miss six weeks.

An in-form Feyenoord club will take its considerable momentum to Alkmaar on Sunday. Feyenoord has 22 points from nine Eredivisie matches, and was impressive during a 3-0 win over Hearts in its UEFA Cup group stage opener. Alkmaar will need to slow down the Eredivisie's top two scorers, Dirk Kuyt and Salomon Kalou, if they plan on gaining any points.
