Surfers Paradise, Australia (My Sportsbook) - Paul Tracy captured the pole for Sunday morning's Lexmark Indy 300 in Surfers Paradise, Australia. The No.1 Forsythe Championship Racing driver circled the track in one minute, 33.556 seconds. The qualifying record for the 2.795-mile temporary street course is one minutes, 30.936 seconds set in October 2001 by Cristiano da Matta. The pole win earned Tracy one championship point. Tracy, who won this race in 1995, earned his first career pole at the 2.795- mile temporary street course. The Canadian, along with 2002 winner Mario Dominguez and 2003 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, will try to become the first driver in the 14-year history of the event to win it more than once. "We laid down a good time and in the end caught a break," said Tracy referring to a red flag that ended the session early. I'd like to be the first guy to win it twice." Starting on the front row with Tracy will be the first qualifying session winner Sebastien Bourdais. Bourdais was third fastest in the second session, but won Friday's session with a time of 1:34.439. Bourdais holds a 28-point lead over Newman/Haas teammate Bruno Junqueira (308-280). He has recorded six road-course wins in 10 road course starts. Junqueira (1:33.737) and A.J. Allmendinger (1:33.867) will start in row two. The final race set to begin on Sunday morning at 12:30 am (et).
