Charlotte, NC (My Sportsbook) - Carolina Panthers running back DeShaun Foster is expected to miss at least six weeks with a broken left collarbone. Foster was hurt during this past Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos when he collided with linebacker Al Wilson in the second quarter. The 24-year-old ran five times for 18 yards before departing. The Panthers were already without their top running back, Stephen Davis, who was inactive for the third consecutive game due to a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery after the team's season-opening loss to Green Bay on September 13. Panthers head coach John Fox said Davis will remain day-to-day as the team prepares for this Sunday's NFC Championship Game rematch with the Philadelphia Eagles. The coach also said the team will probably sign someone for the backfield this week. "We're going to have to do something," Fox said Monday. "What that is I can't answer yet. We're evaluating that now and hopefully by Wednesday we'll have made a decision and move forward. We're very thin there at this point." Nick Goings took over at tailback in Foster's absence against the Broncos and had just 22 yards on 12 carries in the 20-17 loss, which left the defending NFC champs with a 1-3 record. Foster has 59 carries for 255 yards this season.
