Erfurt, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Markus "Boom Boom" Beyer regained the World Boxing Council super middleweight title with a sixth-round knockout of Italy's Cristian Sanavia at Messehalle. Beyer, a native of Germany, was declared the winner when referee Ian John Lewis called a halt to the bout 44 seconds into the sixth round. Beyer improved to 30-2 with 20 knockouts with the victory, which avenges a loss to Sanavia back on June 5. In that bout, Sanavia escaped with a split decision to capture the belt in Beyer's hometown of Chemnitz, Germany. Sanavia fell to 33-2. |
