Marietta, GA (My Sportsbook) - Despite a probation violation on a drunken- driving charge, Atlanta Braves shortstop Rafael Furcal may participate in the playoffs. His arrest violated his probation in Cobb County for a prior arrest in June of 2000 on similar charges. According to Judge David Darden, Furcal is to be confined to his home for the rest of the season, but he can play games. However, the shortstop must return home or to a hotel, while the team is on the road. Furcal, who was arrested back in September and accused of driving under the influence, his second DUI arrest in four years, had a court appearance early in the day. The decision comes on the heels of the Braves opening game of their divisional playoff series with Houston. Furcal was an integral part of the Braves run to their 13th straight division title. In 143 games this season, Furcal batted .279 with 14 homers while driving in 59 runs for Atlanta.
