Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - The Sacramento River Cats won their second consecutive Pacific Coast League Championship with a 4-3 victory over the Iowa Cubs on Sept. 17th. By claiming the PCL title, Sacramento became the first team to win back-to-back titles since 1996-97 when Edmonton achieved the same feat. The River Cats swept Iowa 3-0 in the best-of-five title series. For the regular season, Sacramento went 79-65 and 6-1 in the playoffs. In addition, Dan Johnson was named the Most Valuable Player for the playoffs. He hit .458 (11-for-24) with two home runs and six RBI in the postseason.
