=== San Diego Padres Team Report - September 20 === (My Sportsbook) - San Diego's Adam Eaton got the best of Los Angeles' Jeff Weaver last Thursday. The same pitchers match up again Tuesday night in the opener of a key three-game series between these NL West clubs at Petco Park. The Dodgers enter Tuesday's action with a 2 1/2 game lead on San Francisco in the NL West, while the Padres are 6 1/2 games off the pace. Eaton allowed just five hits in seven shutout innings of a 3-0 win last week. That snapped a three-start winless (0-2) skid. Eaton is 0-5 in his last eight home appearances, last winning at Petco Park June 6 against Milwaukee. He is just 2-7 at home this year. Eaton is 7-2 in 15 career games versus the Dodgers. San Diego lost two of three games at San Francisco over the weekend, falling 4-2 on Sunday. Terrence Long belted a two-run homer for the Padres, who were four games in back of the Giants in the wild card standings heading into Monday's play. Ryan Klesko is now batting .434 (23-for-53) this month with three homers, six doubles, eight RBI and 11 runs scored. He has also his safely in 15 of his 17 games in September. The Padres won three of the four meetings between the teams last week at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers still lead the season series, 9-7.
