Allen Park, MI (My Sportsbook) - Wide receiver Charles Rogers of the Detroit Lions underwent surgery Thursday morning to repair a broken collarbone suffered in the team's victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 1. Team physician and orthopedist Dr. Kyle Anderson performed the procedure, which involved the insertion of an eight-centimeter plate, supported by eight screws, on Rogers' clavicle. "The prognosis is positive and very encouraging, so now he begins his rehab, his healing process again." Rogers was placed on injured reserve earlier this week, meaning he cannot return this season. The Michigan State product played just five games as a rookie last year after the same injury ended his season prematurely. He had 22 catches for 243 yards and three touchdowns in 2003.
