=== Milwaukee Brewers Team Report - September 8 === (My Sportsbook) - The Brewers fell 2-0 to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday evening at PNC Park. Ben Sheets (10-11) was the tough luck loser on Tuesday for Milwaukee, after allowing the two runs on six hits in seven innings. Sheets walked four and fanned four, as the Brewers lost for just the second time in the past six outings. The Brewers recalled infielder Trent Durrington and pitcher Travis Phelps from Triple-A Indianapolis, purchased the contract of catcher Mark Johnson from Indianapolis, added coach Stan Kyles to the staff and released pitcher Nick Neugebauer. The Brewers have still won five of their last eight and are in their hottest stretch since the All-Star break. Milwaukee still sits in the cellar of the NL Central -- 2 1/2 games back of Pittsburgh. Lyle Overbay doubled for one of the Brewers' three hits in a matchup of the bottom two clubs in the NL Central. The Brewers will have 28-year-old lefthander Doug Davis on the mound tonight against Pittsburgh. Davis is 0-1 over his last six appearances, including an injury-shortened no- decision last Tuesday against Pittsburgh. The hurler was hit with a line drive on the arm and was forced to leave. Davis gave up one hit and a one run over an inning of action. In the tilt, Davis struck out three and walked two. Davis has made five starts against Pittsburgh this season, going 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA. For his career, Davis is 1-1 with a 3.48 ERA versus the Pirates. The Pirates lead the season series, 12-6, over the Brewers. Versus Milwaukee, the Pirates are 6-2 at home this year. The Brewers are 11-26 lifetime at PNC Park.
