Santana has won eight consecutive starts and is an impressive 9-0 with a 1.51 earned run average since the All-Star break. The Cy Young Award candidate last won 10 in a row from August 3, 2003-to-May 13 of this season. The 25-year-old lefthander's latest win came on Friday against the Kansas City Royals, as he allowed just one hit over seven scoreless innings to improve to 16-6 on the season, while lowering his ERA to 2.95, which is tied with Oakland's Tim Hudson for the league lead. Santana is 0-1 lifetime versus the Orioles with a 4.82 ERA in five games - two starts. In the second game of the set on Tuesday, Michael Cuddyer snapped a tie with a two-run homer in the ninth inning to lead Minnesota to a 3-1 win. J.C. Romero (7-1) retired the side in the eighth to earn the victory for the Twins, who won for the sixth time in their last eight games. Joe Nathan tossed a perfect ninth for his 39th save. Minnesota has won three of its five matchups with the Orioles this season. Baltimore also holds a 10-8 edge over the Twins since the start of the 2002 campaign.
