Glasgow, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Walter Smith is refusing to entertain suggestions that his Rangers side have effectively wrapped up the Scottish Premier League title after restoring their 13-point lead at the top of the table. Second-half strikes from Steven Whittaker and Kenny Miller wrapped up a 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock on Tuesday night in a further blow to Old Firm rivals Celtic's already slim title hopes. Rangers have lost just one domestic game in the last 12 months, but Smith is still refusing to concede that a second straight league title is now theirs. "To go a year with just one defeat is a fair achievement. For a team that doesn't get a lot of credit for a lot of things, the level of consistency in terms of results has been fantastic," he said. "I was concerned about this game and last Saturday's against St Mirren. We had players coming back from international duty and the games are coming quite quickly, so there was a concern. "However, it was a satisfying result. It was a poor first half from us and Killie were the better team." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
