Bensalem, PA (My Sportsbook) - Love of Money, ridden by Robby Albarado, making just his fourth career start and his first in a stakes race captured the $750,000 Pennsylvania Derby at Philadelphia Park.

The lightly-raced three-year-old took the lead in the 1 1/8 mile race shortly after the starting gate opened. Love of Money set the pace with Illinois Derby winner Pollard's Vision running second. Stalking the pace in third was post- time favorite Tapit along with Queen's Plate winner Niigon.

Love of Money, showing his inexperience, tried to bear out entering the home stretch. Albarado quickly straightened out the colt and piloted him to a 8 1/2 length triumph. Pollard's Vision, the third choice by the betting public, was second followed by Swingforthefences, Niigon, Pies Prospect, Separato, Song of the Sword and Royal Assault.

Tapit was a disappointing 9th after racing close to the lead. My Snookie's Boy finished 10th ridden by Stewart Elliott. Elliott was the regular rider of Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Smarty Jones. The final two finishers were Wimplestiltskin and Master David.

The time for the Pennsylvania Derby was 1:48.42.

Love of Money is owned by Jay Em Ess Stable and trained by Richard Dutrow, Jr. The three-year-old pockets $450,000 for his biggest win so far. He has won three of his four starts and was making his start around two turns. In his first three races he was ridden by John Velazquez. Velazquez was aboard Pollard's Vision this time.

Love of Money returned $27.40, $12.40 and $9.00. Pollard's Vision paid $6.00 and $4.00, and Swingforthefences paid $9.20 for show.
