Glasgow, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - The Scottish Premier League kicks back into action with a full slate of fixtures highlighted by Sundays top-of-the- table clash between leaders Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday.
Rangers is currently leading their Old Firm rivals by seven points with a game in hand, and a victory on Sunday would all but clinch the SPL title.
Sunday's fixture is not without controversy, however. The Scottish Football Association is claiming that a Celtic source is trying to "exert additional pressure" on match officials by leaking the club's frustration over recent referee decisions.
"We find it disappointing and somewhat bizarre that, in the build-up to an Old Firm derby, an unnamed Celtic 'source' would seek to exert additional pressure on match officials by issuing ill-timed and fundamentally inaccurate comments," SFA president George Peat said in a statement.
"The validity of these comments is questionable in any case, since the 'source' is not courageous enough to put his name to them.
"In actual fact, discussions between the Scottish FA and Celtic have taken place but the contents of these discussions will remain private, as was agreed with the club.
"I am sure the Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawell, will be concerned by the fact that someone has elected to speak on behalf of his club, seemingly without consent, and therefore undermined his authority."
The previous two fixtures between the rivals this season saw major decisions go against Celtic, with Rangers earning several penalty kicks during a 2-1 win in October.
To add to matters, Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor is doubtful for the fixture after suffering injuries when attacked on a night out last week.
A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "We have received a complaint from a man in relation to being assaulted on Bath Street, Glasgow, on the evening of Saturday February 20. Inquiries are ongoing."
The other five SP fixtures take place on Saturday with seventh-placed Aberdeen hosting sixth-placed Hearts; fourth-placed Dundee United hosting 12th-placed Falkirk; third-placed Hibernian hosting eighth-placed St Johnstone; fifth- placed Motherwell hosting ninth-placed Kilmarnock; and 10th-placed St Mirren hosting 11th-placed Hamilton.
