Flushing Meadows, NY (My Sportsbook) - Sizzling American Lindsay Davenport won her 19th straight match on Thursday to reach the third round of the U.S. Open. The fifth-seeded Davenport blew past Arantxa Parra Santonja 6-4, 6-2 at Ashe Stadium. The 28-year-old American closed out her Spanish counterpart with her seventh ace of the day after 62 minutes of tennis. Davenport wasn't perfect on Day 4, as she scattered 23 unforced errors, piled up seven double faults and had her big serve broken twice by Parra Santonja. The 1998 U.S. Open champion and 2000 runner-up Davenport is seeking her fifth straight title on the WTA Tour, having won her last four events before heading to Flushing for her 14th Open. Davenport, who leads the WTA with six championships this season, also owns one Australian Open crown (2000), one Wimbledon title (1999) and an Olympic gold medal (1996). Up next for the high-flying Davenport will be 26th-seeded Russian Elena Bovina, a 6-2, 7-5 victor against Italian Maria Elena Camerin at the year's final Grand Slam event. In other second-round action, 13th-seeded Argentine Paola Suarez subdued Madagascar's Dally Randriantefy 6-2, 6-2 and No. 14 Russian Nadia Petrova pasted Aussie Samantha Stosur by an identical 6-2, 6-2 score at the USTA National Tennis Center.
