=== Austin cracks top-100 in world rankings === Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Woody Austin defeated Tim Herron in a playoff Sunday at the Buick Championship for his first victory on the PGA Tour since the 1995 Buick Open and in the process climbed to No. 90 in the latest Official World Golf Ranking. Tiger Woods will be teeing it up this week at the Deutsche Bank Championship in a quest to maintain his No. 1 ranking. Second-ranked Vijay Singh is also in the field and will be gunning for his sixth victory of the season. Ernie Els, who will defend his European Masters title this week, stayed put at No. 3. Masters champ Phil Mickelson was next at No. 4 while Davis Love III, U.S. Open winner Retief Goosen, Mike Weir, Padraig Harrington and Jim Furyk all held their positions from last week. Stewart Cink moved up one spot to No. 10. Sergio Garcia also climbed one place to No. 11 and Adam Scott, who will defend his title this week at the Deutsche Bank Championship, dropped two positions to No. 12. Stuart Appleby exchanged positions with Kenny Perry to move up to No. 13. Darren Clarke and Chad Campbell also swapped places, with Clarke coming in at No. 15 and Campbell falling to No. 16. Chris DiMarco and Todd Hamilton remained at No. 17 and No. 18, respectively. Stephen Ames jumped two spots to No. 19, while Scott Verplank rounded out the top 20. European Ryder Cup member Miguel Angel Jimenez, who earned his fourth win of the year Sunday at the BMW International Open, vaulted 13 positions to come in at No. 23 this week. |
