Saratoga Springs, NY (My Sportsbook) - Kentucky Derby runner-up Lion Heart suffered a broken bone in his right front foot during Saturday's Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course, and the three-year-old thoroughbred is expected to be retired. Lion Heart trainer Patrick Biancone said the injury would likely mean the end of the horse's career. Lion Heart, who entered Saturday's race as the 5-2 betting favorite, finished last in the seven-horse field after suffering the injury. Lion Heart finished second to Smarty Jones in the Kentucky Derby and was the fourth-place finisher at the Preakness. He won four graded stakes in his 10- race career, including the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational and Hollywood Futurity. His career earnings were $1,390,800.
