(My Sportsbook) - Two teams heading in opposite directions meet in South Beach Sunday when the New Orleans Hornets visit the Miami Heat.

The Hornets have righted the ship under new head coach Jeff Bower, the team's general manager who took over after Byron Scott was fired last week. New Orleans won its third straight game under Bower on Saturday dispensing of the Southeast Division-leading Atlanta Hawks, 96-88.

Rookie Darren Collison produced game-highs of 22 points and 11 assists in that one as the Hornets ended the Hawks' seven-game winning streak.

Collison, filling in for the injured star Chris Paul (ankle), and fellow backcourt rookie Marcus Thornton finished 1-2 in scoring with the latter pouring in 21 points.

"We really wanted this win, but they came in with confidence. Marcus Thornton was definitely the story of the game. We really didn't have an answer for him," Hawks head coach Mike Woodson said. "Their guard play really helped them to get over the hump."

Peja Stojakovic checked in with 17 points and David West scored 12 with 10 rebounds for the Hornets.

"We really battled to close out the game. We really played the fourth quarter with an outstanding mindset of attacking four minute spurts. We wanted to get off to a good start to start the quarter and we wanted to maintain our momentum in the middle," said Bower.

The Heat, meanwhile, have been heading south in the standings since a sizzling start to the season, dropping their third straight game on Friday in Toronto.

Chris Bosh scored a team-high 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in that one, as the Raptors held on for a 120-113 win over Miami.

Mario Chalmers scored a career-high 30 points, and Dwyane Wade also had 30 in addition to eight assists for the Heat, who have dropped four of five overall. Michael Beasley had a solid game with 21 points and 12 boards before fouling out.

The Hornets, who are just 1-6 on the road, have won four straight and six of their past seven meetings with Miami.
