Warriors return home to face Blazers

(My Sportsbook) - The Golden State Warriors return to their home floor for the first time since dealing star swingman Stephen Jackson when they host the streaking Portland Trail Blazers tonight.

The Warriors dealt Jackson to Charlotte on Monday along with point guard Acie Law for injured guard Raja Bell and forward Vladimir Radmanovic.

On the floor, Golden State finished a five-game road swing at 1-4 after dropping a 109-95 decision to Boston on Wednesday. Rajon Rondo finished with 18 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds in that one to lead a balanced Celtics attack.

Corey Maggette had 23 points and eight rebounds for Golden State, which dropped its third in a row. Monta Ellis had 18 points in the loss. Bell passed on surgery for his injured left wrist so the Warriors could have eight players in the game and scored 11 points.

"Firstly, it's hard to sit there and watch when a team is as undermanned as we are," said Bell. "Secondly, I was hoping I get out there and [the injury] would be okay. Part of me in the back of my mind had a lot of high hopes for it."

Bell did decide to have the surgery on Thursday and could miss the rest of the season, joining fellow guard Kelenna Azubuike, who is out after surgery to repair a torn patella tendon. The banged-up Warriors are also missing Ronny Turiaf (knee), Brandan Wright (shoulder) and Andris Biedrins (groin/back) from their frontcourt.

The Blazers, meanwhile, won for the seventh time in eight games Wednesday when Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge each scored 20, and Portland nearly blew a 20-point lead in the final quarter before holding off Detroit, 87-81, at the Rose Garden.

Steve Blake added 17 points, while Andre Miller tallied 10 points and 11 assists for the Trail Blazers, who have taken off since inserting Miller in the starting lineup.

"We just blew that lead. We tried to get our starters back in there late," said Roy. "We did the best we could trying to get in that game once they had a flow. We held them off."

Golden State has dominated Portland in Oakland recently, winning eight straight vs. the Blazers on its home floor.
