San Antonio, TX (My Sportsbook) - Deron Williams scored 21 points and dished out 10 assists, including a key pass to Carlos Boozer for a lead-extending layup late in the fourth, as Utah downed depleted San Antonio, 90-83, at AT&T Center.
Williams' dish to Boozer allowed the big man to score in close for an 86-83 lead with just over one minute remaining. He converted the subsequent free throw for a two-possession game. After an empty trip for San Antonio, Ronnie Brewer made 1-of-2 from the foul line with 45.8 ticks left to put the game on ice.
Boozer finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Paul Millsap chipped in with 20 points and seven boards off the bench. Brewer and Andrei Kirilenko each donated 13 points for the Jazz, winners of two straight.
San Antonio played without Tony Parker, who sat with an ankle injury, and Manu Ginobili, who missed the contest with a groin ailment that is likely to keep him sidelined for a week or more.
Tim Duncan recorded 21 points with nine rebounds and five assists, while George Hill contributed 18 points before fouling out in the rare start. Richard Jefferson donated 16 points and six rebounds for the Spurs, who have lost three in a row and dropped to a surprising 4-6 on the campaign.
Utah led 20-19 after the first stanza and scored the first eight points of the second period to grab a nine-point edge. The lead grew to 10 points at 35-25 on Millsap's jumper with 7:25 on the clock and reached as many as 12 before the Spurs whittled the deficit to four by halftime.
The Jazz built a 57-48 lead thanks to Williams' three-pointer with just over five minutes to play in the third; however the Spurs rallied with the final 10 points of the period to tie the game at 60-60.
Utah's advantage stood at 72-67 thanks to a Millsap bucket with just under nine minutes to go, and the game remained close until the final moments.
