Oakland, CA (My Sportsbook) - Golden State Warriors swingman Kelenna Azubuike is reportedly out for the rest of the season due to a torn patella tendon in his left knee. The Oakland Tribune cited a team source as saying an MRI taken Monday showed the injury, which Azubuike sustained Saturday in a 129-125 loss at Milwaukee. A recovery from this type of surgery is usually 5-to-6 months. Azubuike is averaging 13.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in nine games this season. The Warriors also learned that guard C.J. Watson has tested positive for swine flu. Watson tweeted on Sunday afternoon that a doctor suspected he had the H1N1 virus and was instructed to wear a mask when around people. He's not expected to play at Cleveland Tuesday or in Boston Wednesday as the Warriors conclude their road trip. Watson has played in seven games this season and is averaging 5.9 points and 1.6 assists in 15.3 minutes. He was re-signed by the Warriors this past offseason after becoming a restricted free agent. |
