Milwaukee, WI (My Sportsbook) - Dirk Nowitzki beat the overtime buzzer and the Bucks, sinking a jumper from the left of the foul line, giving the Mavericks a 115-113 win over Milwaukee.

Nowitzki led the way with 32 points and 11 rebounds as Dallas won its third straight game. Drew Gooden tacked on 22 points and 14 boards, while Jason Kidd narrowly missed a triple-double with nine points, 10 rebounds and 17 assists. Jason Terry scored 19 in the win.

Brandon Jennings, coming off a Bucks rookie-record 55-point performance in a win over Golden State Saturday, ended with 25 points, seven boards and eight assists Monday night. It was also his missed three-pointer that opened the door for the Mavs at the end.

Jennings was well off the mark on a three-point try with 3.5 seconds left, and the Mavs called timeout to set up the final play. Milwaukee had a foul to give and used that to take 0.4 seconds off the clock.

Nowitzki then got the inbounds pass and turned before firing a fall-away shot over Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. The ball looked to be on its way in the basket cleanly, but it clanked off the rim before going high off the backboard and finally through. The Mavs swarmed Nowitzki on the court in celebration.

"When it left my hand I thought it was going straight in," said Nowitzki. "the bounce obviously was lucky. When it bounced up it seemed like it was up there forever. We got a lucky bounce and we definitely needed it."

Ersan Ilyasova ended with 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Bucks, who had their four-game win streak snapped. Luke Ridnour scored 17 in defeat.

Earlier in OT, Nowitzki committed an over-the-back foul on a rebound play, leading to a pair of free throws from Mbah a Moute. That allowed the Bucks to tie the game with 37.9 seconds left.

Nowitzki then missed a layup, but Gooden cleaned up the miss and his tip-in tied the contest with 27 seconds remaining.

The Mavs carried a 66-54 lead into halftime and pushed the advantage to as many as 18 in the third quarter. The Bucks rallied, though, and had the deficit at 85-82 moving to the fourth. Jennings nailed a three-pointer in the closing seconds of the period.

Terry's jumper with 32.2 seconds left in the final quarter forced the extra session.

"That's our second game in a row where we had very little defensive intensity, very little will to stop the other team at all," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "We paid for it by getting way behind. We gave ourselves a chance, but offensively we didn't play very smart."

Game Notes

The Mavericks start a three-game homestand Wednesday against San Antonio...The Bucks are 3-1 on a six-game residency with games upcoming against New Jersey and Charlotte...Dallas center Erick Dampier didn't play Monday after being hospitalized for an unspecified illness in the Pontiac, Mich. area Sunday, also missing the Mavs' 95-90 win over the Pistons...Dallas won for just the sixth time in its 29 visits to Milwaukee...Mavs forward Shawn Marion sprained his left ankle on the first play of the game, but played 14 minutes before exiting...Both teams shot well from beyond the arc with the Bucks ending 14- of-27 and Dallas 10-of-20.
