Villanova, PA (My Sportsbook) - Maalik Wayns netted 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and the fifth-ranked Villanova Wildcats crushed the Penn Quakers, 103-65, at The Pavilion.

Antonio Pena added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (2-0), who opened their season with an easy win over Fairleigh Dickinson. Taylor King, Scottie Reynolds and Corey Stokes each had 14 points in the win for Villanova, which shot 11-of-21 from three-point range.

Corey Fisher contributed 13 points and eight assists for the Wildcats.

Darren Smith had a game-high 21 points for the Quakers (0-2), who lost to Penn State in their first contest of the year. Rob Belcore was the only other player in double-figures for Penn with 16, as the visitors shot just 34.5 percent for the game.

The Wildcats trailed, 5-4, early, but a 16-0 run would put them in front for good.

Pena's two free throws began the surge a little more than two minutes into the game, and back-to-back three-pointers from Stokes and King extended the lead to seven.

Stokes added a pair of free throws, and Reynolds hit a transition three- pointer for a 17-5 game. Another long distance shot from Stokes 6 1/2 minutes into the contest provided a 15-point lead.

A jumper from Dominic Cheek with seven minutes until halftime extended Villanova's margin to 35-16, and the lead ballooned to 55-25 at halftime.

The Wildcats led by as many as 48 in the second half.
