Durham, NC (My Sportsbook) - Kyle Singler scored 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as ninth-ranked Duke pounded Coastal Carolina, 74-49, in the first round of the NIT Season Tip-Off at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Andre Dawkins added 13 points for the Blue Devils (2-0), who also received 10 points apiece from Miles Plumlee and Jon Scheyer. Duke, which beat UNC Greensboro by 34 points in the season opener on Friday, will next play either Charlotte or Elon Tuesday night. Mario Edwards led the way with 12 points for the Chanticleers (1-1), who were coming off a 70-59 win over the College of Charleston Friday. Logan Johnson and Dexter Moore each scored seven for Coastal Carolina, which shot 28.6 percent from the field. Coastal Carolina scored the game's first six points, but Duke used a big push late in the half to take a double-digit lead. The Blue Devils embarked on a 16-4 run later for a 25-12 cushion. Lance Thomas had a layup near the end of the spurt, which was capped by a pair of Plumlee free throws. Singler's three-pointer in the closing minute of the half extended the margin to 33-19 and the cushion went to over 20 midway through the second half. Dawkins' three-ball moved the lead to 50-28 with 11 minutes remaining.
