New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Connecticut remained a unanimous pick as the top women's college basketball team, as the Associated Press released its new rankings Monday.

The Huskies, who won last year's national championship, opened their 2009-10 season with a 105-35 rout of Northeastern this past weekend. UConn received all 40 first-place votes and a total of 1,000 points from a nationwide media panel.

Stanford and Ohio State remained second and third, respectively, while North Carolina and Notre Dame swapped places to complete the top five.

Tennessee, LSU, Baylor, Xavier and Texas round out the top 10. Duke dropped five places from sixth to start the second 10 after a loss to Texas A&M on Sunday.

Virginia is 12th, followed by Florida State, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Georgia, California, DePaul, Kansas and Oklahoma. Texas A&M was not ranked in the preseason poll. California and DePaul are tied for 17th.

The final five teams ranked this week are Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Middle Tennessee and Mississippi State. A loss to Dayton dropped the Spartans 11 places from their preseason spot of 10th, while Mississippi State joined the poll this week.

Georgia Tech and Rutgers fell out of the poll.
