Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said Monday he was unsure if Brian Westbrook would return this season after the versatile running back suffered a second concussion in a four-week span during Sunday's game against San Diego.

Westbrook missed two games after his initial concussion, sustained October 26 against Washington. He returned to the field on Sunday, but left the contest early in the second half.

"I think it's too early to tell right now [if he'll play again this season]," Reid said Monday. "[Westbrook playing again] is the last thing on my mind right now. Football is not the important thing. We have to get him analyzed and tested and go from there."

Reid said the team took every precaution after Westbrook's last concussion before allowing him to return to the field.

"We took every precautionary measure and it happened again," Reid noted. "We left it up to the doctors. There was a chance he could have played the week before but we held him out of that one. Tests came back normal, so the experts felt comfortable and we went with it."

The oft-injured Westbrook, who also missed a game earlier this season due to an ankle sprain, had just six carries for 28 yards before exiting Sunday's contest.

"He was foggy when he stood up and walked off the field," Reid said Monday about Westbrook's condition after the injury. "We could sense that there was something wrong there."

Westbrook has just 225 yards and one touchdown on the ground this season, while adding 19 receptions for 156 yards and another score.
