Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - Steve Nash poured in 23 points and his three- point play with 38.9 seconds left in the fourth proved to be the difference, as the Phoenix Suns continued their recent dominance over the Toronto Raptors with a 101-100 win at US Airways Center.

Phoenix has won the past 11 meetings between the teams. The Suns have also posted a 15-4 record over the previous 19 encounters with Toronto. The Raptors are winless in their past six trips to the Valley of the Sun.

Nash also dished out nine assists for the Suns, who have the best record in the NBA at 9-2. Amare Stoudemire added 30 points and eight rebounds. Channing Frye ended with 20 points and seven boards for Phoenix, which was coming off a 121-102 loss to the Lakers on Thursday.

"A good win for us against a quality team," Suns head coach Alvin Gentry said. "They present so many problems for you. I thought after the first quarter we were going to have to score 120 points to win."

Chris Bosh made 10-of-19 shots on his way to 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors, who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Hedo Turkoglu made four three-pointers and finished with 20 points. Andrea Bargnani added 17 points in defeat.

The Raptors used a Bargnani jumper and Marco Belinelli three-pointer to take an 84-77 lead just over a minute into the fourth. However, the Suns responded with a 10-0 run. Nash's trey gave Phoenix an 87-84 edge with 7:41 to play.

Things stayed close and Turkoglu's three-pointer tied things at 98 with 1:29 left. After Nash missed a shot from beyond the arc at the other end, Turkoglu drilled a long two to make it 100-98 with 51.5 seconds remaining.

Nash countered with the eventual game-winning three-point play. Nash looked things over at the point before driving to the hoop and making a layup while getting fouled. The free throw made it 101-100 with 38.9 ticks to go.

Turkoglu and Nash each went on to miss a trey, with Nash's misfire leaving the Raptors with 12.5 seconds. Toronto kept the ball in Turkoglu's hands, but his step-back shot was off the mark as time expired.

"That last shot is what we wanted...it was another good look, but it just didn't go in," Toronto head coach Jay Triano said.

The Raptors led for a majority of the first three periods, but Phoenix kept things tight.

Game Notes

Phoenix made 23-of-27 free throws, while Toronto made 11-of-14 shots from the charity stripe...The Suns improved to 4-0 at home this season.
