Raleigh, NC (My Sportsbook) - Jussi Jokinen recorded the lone score of the shootout, as Carolina blew a pair of three-goal leads but recovered to end its franchise-worst 14-game losing streak with a 5-4 decision over Minnesota at RBC Center. Jokinen opened the second round with a backhander under the crossbar, then Mikko Koivu for Minnesota and Matt Cullen from Carolina missed their chances. Marek Zidlicky got the last opportunity for the Wild, and Michael Leighton was equal to end the game. Ray Whitney notched a goal and two assists for the Hurricanes, who hadn't won since a 7-2 decision over Florida on October 9. Brandon Sutter and Joe Corvo added a goal and a helper apiece, while Jokinen also tallied in regulation. Leighton stopped 28 shots for his first win of the season. Robbie Earl posted his first two career scores for the Wild, who have dropped three in a row. John Scott also tallied his first NHL goal, Antti Miettinen lit the lamp and Niklas Backstrom took the loss after allowing four goals on 35 shots.

Final Score: Atlanta 3, Edmonton 2

Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - Slava Kozlov scored the eventual game-winning goal midway through the third period and also added an assist, as the Atlanta Thrashers held on for a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers at Philips Arena. Zach Bogosian and Maxim Afinogenov also tallied, while Rich Peverley registered a pair of assists for Atlanta, which has won four straight. Johan Hedberg stopped 34-of-36 shots. Shawn Horcoff returned to the lineup after missing the last four games with a shoulder injury and lit the lamp for the Oilers, who have dropped three in a row and six of seven overall. Dustin Penner also tallied in defeat. Nikolai Khabibulin finished with 27 saves.

Final Score: Chicago 4, San Jose 3 (OT)

Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - Brent Seabrook scored the game-winning goal 41 seconds into overtime, as the Chicago Blackhawks rallied past the San Jose Sharks, 4-3, at United Center. Jonathan Toews controlled the puck in front of the San Jose net with a defender on his back. Seabrook charged into the zone and took a backhand pass from Toews before firing a wrister past Evgeni Nabokov. Brent Sopel, John Madden, and Patrick Kane each scored a goal for the Blackhawks, who improved their home winning streak to seven games. Toews had a pair of assists for Chicago, which got 20 saves from Cristobal Huet. Jason Demers recorded his first career goal and also had an assist for the Sharks, who have registered at least a point in 12 straight games, going 9-0-3 over that stretch. Patrick Marleau and Dany Heatley also scored for San Jose, which got 26 saves from Nabokov.
