Baton Rouge, LA (My Sportsbook) - Keiland Williams ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, and ninth-ranked LSU held off a feisty Louisiana Tech team, 24-16, at Tiger Stadium.

Jarrett Lee completed only 7-of-22 pass attempts for 105 yards and a touchdown for LSU (8-2), which was coming off a defeat at the hands of unbeaten Alabama. Brandon LaFell caught two passes for 54 yards and a score, and the Tigers won despite being outgained, 322-246.

Ross Jenkins threw for 143 yards on 16-of-31 passing for Louisiana Tech (3-7), which has not beaten LSU since 1904. The Bulldogs were able to hang around, leading the game at halftime, 13-10, and holding the ball for over 36 minutes.

Daniel Porter ran for 64 yards and threw for a touchdown, and Tyrone Duplessis garnered 65 yards on the ground on 17 carries in the loss.

LSU erased Louisiana Tech's surprising halftime lead with a touchdown close to eight minutes into the third quarter.

Starting from their own 41 after each team punted, LSU went 59 yards in nine plays. A personal foul penalty forced the Tigers into a 3rd-and-18 from their own 33, but Lee completed a pass to Chris Mitchell that barely got the first down.

Following a 16-yard completion to LaFell that put the Tigers on the Bulldogs' three, Williams ran it into the end zone for a 17-13 LSU advantage.

The Bulldogs' got to the LSU 35 early in the fourth, but two holding penalties thwarted a potential scoring drive, and the team ended up punting.

The teams traded punts one more time, and Williams capped off an eight-play, 56-yard drive with a nine-yard scoring run to give LSU a 24-13 advantage with seven minutes to go.

Matt Nelson hit a 36-yard field goal with 25 seconds left to make it an eight- point game, and the ensuing onsides kick failed as LSU ran one play to finish out the game.

LSU drove down the field on its first possession of the game but had to settle for Josh Jasper's 35-yard field goal for an early lead.

The Bulldogs answered with a 10-play drive that ended in Nelson's 30-yard field goal, tying the game with 4 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter.

The ensuing possession resulted in a Tigers touchdown for a 10-3 advantage. LSU didn't face a third down on the six-play march that was aided by Williams' 25-yard rush, as Lee hit LaFell for a 38-yard touchdown with two minutes to go in the period.

Nelson brought Louisiana Tech to within four points with a 33-yard field goal with 5 1/2 minutes left in the half, and the Bulldogs got the ball right back after an LSU three-and-out.

The ensuing drive resulted in a 4th-and-goal from the one-yard line with two seconds remaining, and Louisiana Tech elected go to for the touchdown. It proved to be the right decision, as Porter, normally a running back, completed a touchdown pass to Dennis Morris for a 13-10 halftime lead.
