Djokovic dominates Nadal; joins Monfils in Paris final

Paris, France (My Sportsbook) - Novak Djokovic dominated Rafael Nadal and moved into the final of the Paris Masters, where he will face countryman Gael Monfils on Sunday.

The 22-year-old Djokovic continued to come into his own with an eye-opening 6-2, 6-3 victory over the Spanish sensation Nadal. Djokovic won a staggering 83 percent of first-serve points and blasted 31 winners at Nadal, a player who normally covers the court better than anyone.

Djokovic didn't face a break in the match and will take the momentum into the final against the fan favorite Monfils, who needed more time and effort to slip past Radek Stepanek, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.

The Serbian Djokovic defeated Nadal for the second straight time in moving into his 10th championship match of the season. Djokovic claimed the first set by winning four straight games from 2-2. Nadal lost seven games in a row and was broken at love to drop behind 2-0 in the second straight. The match was all but over from there, as Djokovic continued the momentum after a victory over top-ranked Roger Federer in the Swiss Indoors final last week.

Nadal was still trying to get back into the swing of things after missing a month with a pulled stomach muscle. He has not won a tour event since the Rome Masters in May.

Monfils won the first set and served for the match at 5-4 in the second, but Stepanek broke then broke again to force a deciding third set. Monfils broke in the ninth game of the final set then served out the match.

This event also decided the eight-player field for the ATP World Tour Finals from November 22-29 in London.

Fernando Verdasco, who lost to Croatia's Marin Cilic in the third round of this event on Thursday, will join Roger Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Andy Murray, Juan Martin del Potro, Andy Roddick and Nikolay Davydenko in the London field.

This week's winner will claim $675,000.
