(My Sportsbook) - The
Miami Heat hope to bounce back from a loss to one of the NBA's heavyweights when they host the hapless
New Jersey Nets Saturday.
The Heat lost for just the second time this season on Thursday when LeBron James finished with 34 points, including 16 from the free throw line, to help Cleveland to a 111-104 victory over Dwyane Wade and Miami.
Wade finished with a game-high 36 points, but it was James and the Cavaliers who came away with the win. James, who also had seven assists, scored Cleveland's final eight points.
"I enjoy playing LeBron, probably more so than anybody else in the league," Wade said. "You feel a lot better when you win the ball game. Over the course of our careers, we are going to continue to have those battles."
Michael Beasley added 24 points and six rebounds for the Heat, whose three- game win streak came to an end. Jermaine O'Neal finished with 15 points and nine boards in the setback.
The Nets fell to a franchise-worst 0-9 this season after suffering an 88-72 loss at Orlando on Friday night.
Rafer Alston recorded a triple-double against his former team, logging 17 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds in another losing effort for the Nets, who received 15 points from Bobby Simmons. Terrence Williams had 11 points and 12 rebounds in a losing effort.
"It's special, but it's tough to enjoy after a loss," Alston said of his performance on the team's site. "I'm sure I'll feel better about it some day. It's not the easiest thing to accomplish."
New Jersey dressed only nine players last night due to a myriad of injuries, including a groin issue for play-making guard Devin Harris. Harris is out indefinitely. Forward Chris Douglas-Roberts was back in the lineup Friday after battling a case of swine flu and scored five points.
Miami took three of its four meetings with the Nets last season, including both matchups in South Beach.
