PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The NFL has suspended Eagles cornerback Joselio Hanson four games for violating the league's ban on performance enhancing substances. The league announced Hanson's suspension Wednesday. He will be eligible to return for Philadelphia's Dec. 13 game against the New York Giants. Hanson's attorney, David Cornwell, says his client was suspended after testing positive for a diuretic before last year's NFC Championship Game against Arizona. Cornwell says Hanson felt bloated after eating and took a pill that ``turned out to be a diuretic.'' Cornwell says Hanson appealed but was notified on Tuesday that his suspension will stand. Hanson has 29 tackles and one interception this season.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
