Del Mar, CA (My Sportsbook) - Pleasantly Perfect, the winner of last year's Breeders' Cup Classic, is the morning-line favorite for Sunday's $1 million Pacific Classic at Del Mar. Eight older male thoroughbreds have been entered in the 14th running of the Pacific Classic. Pleasantly Perfect will be making just his second start since capturing the Dubai World Cup earlier this year. Coming into to ride Pleasantly Perfect for the first time will be Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey. The horse will start from post five and is 6-5 in the morning line. Last time out, Pleasantly Perfect was a close second to Choctaw Nation in the San Diego Handicap. Trained by Richard Mandella, Pleasantly Perfect has won half of his 16 career starts with more than $6.7 million in earnings. He began this year with a win in the San Antonio Handicap at Santa Anita Park. Pleasantly Perfect is owned by Diamond A Racing. San Diego Handicap winner Choctaw Nation will again be ridden by Victor Espinoza. Choctaw Nation is trained by Jeff Mullins and will start from post three. The four-year-old is 9-2 in the morning line. Owned by Robert D. Bone, Choctaw Nation has won all five lifetime starts for $241,800. During, the third-place finisher in the San Diego Handicap, will break from post eight with Corey Nakatani in the saddle. Trained by Bob Baffert for owner James McIngvale, During is 12-1 in the morning line. The four-year-old is going after his second win of the year. Completing the field for the 1 1/4 mile race are El Elogiado, Colonial Colony, Perfect Drift, Total Impact and Night Patrol.
