Liverpool's Benitez not worried about losing job

Liverpool, England (My Sportsbook) - Rafael Benitez admitted that Liverpool now needs a miracle to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, but insists he does not fear for his job.

Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Lyon in a match they needed to win to boost their chances of qualifying from Group E has seen the pressure mount on Benitez.

A late Ryan Babel wonder-strike seemed to have given the Reds a vital three points, before Lisandro gave the home side an undeserved draw in the last minute of normal time.

Liverpool, who are also struggling in the Premier League, must now hope that Lyon can defeat Fiorentina in their next match while they themselves must overcome Debrecen and then the Italian club in order to progress from the group stages.

But despite fresh reports questioning Benitez's future at Anfield, the defiant Spaniard insists he is going nowhere.

"No, I am only thinking about the next game, nothing else," he said when asked if he feared for his job.

Speaking about the performance in France and their hopes for the Champions League, he added: "We have to be really disappointed, we had so many chances and we were almost there.

"But again it was a late goal by Lyon, and it is a massive difference for us.

"Clearly it is difficult now, but not impossible. We have to win our next game in Debrecen and wait to see what the result is between Fiorentina and Lyon.

"We have to keep going and try to win. We have achieved miracles before and we can do it again."
