Hoffenheim, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Hoffenheim have revealed that Austria defender Andreas Ibertsberger sustained a serious facial injury in the closing stages of Sunday's victory against Freiburg. The 27-year-old sustained the problem when he challenged for a header with Freiburg's Ivica Banovic in the last minute of the match. He was operated on in Heidelberg on Monday with Dr. Pieter Beks telling Hoffenheim's official website: "We put in some osteosynthetic material to stabilize the fractures and we'll be monitoring his progress very closely over the next few days and weeks.
