Kaka makes San Siro return

Milan, Italy (My Sportsbook) - When European heavyweights Real Madrid and AC Milan get together at the San Siro on Tuesday in Champions League Group C play all of the focus will center on the return of former Milan star Kaka.

The 27-year-old Brazilian spent six seasons at the San Siro, scoring over 90 goals and helping the Rossoneri reach the Champions League final twice.

He left Milan over the summer in a $90 million transfer, and although he will be making his first appearance back at the San Siro, he has remained very quiet.

"After all those years, I expect a nice welcome. "Tomorrow night's match will be difficult," said Kaka.

Whether or not he receives a positive response remains to be seen, but he is right to expect a difficult match in a game featuring the top two teams in the group.

Both sides are level on six points after Milan's 3-2 win in Spain two weeks ago, but Real manager Manuel Pellegrini is trying to keep the game in perspective.

"Winning is important if we want to qualify for the next round," Pellegrini said. "It's a big game between two great teams. We will go for the win from the very first minute. I hope things go well and that we recover the top spot, but even then we still must win the two remaining matches of the group stage."

A win for either side will put them well on their way to a place in the knockout round, but Milan's Ronaldinho feels as though his team has the ability to go even further.

"Milan can win the Champions League? Yes I think so, Milan is a great team with a great history in the Champions League. I think that we can do well, it's difficult but not impossible."

That kind of confidence would have been hard to find earlier in the season, when Milan won just three of its first nine games in all competitions.

However, the club has won four and drawn one in its last five matches, moving to fourth in the Serie A table.

Real Madrid will be without its other high-priced star in Cristiano Ronaldo, who is out with an ankle injury, but all of the focus will be on Kaka, and teammate Xabi Alonso knows how important the game is to the Brazilian.

"It is a special match for him. He had some great years here and he will get to see some former colleagues," Alonso said. "He hasn't had much to say. We played Milan a couple weeks ago and not much has changed."

The other match in Group C features Zurich and Marseille getting together in France with both teams level on three points.

A vital match in Group A takes place at the Allianz Arena as Bayern Munich welcomes leaders Bordeaux to Germany. The French side earned a 2-1 win over Bayern last time out, and they now lead the German outfit by three points, while second-placed Juventus visits Maccabi Haifa trailing Bordeaux by two points.

Manchester United can clinch a spot in the next round with a win at home against CSKA Moscow in Group B, while defending Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg invade Besiktas with hopes of holding on to second place.

Chelsea has won its first three games in Group D and can clinch a knockout round berth with a win at home against struggling Atletico Madrid, while FC Porto will also advance with a win over APOEL and an Atletico loss or draw.

On Wednesday, Liverpool faces a vital trip to France to face Group E leaders Lyon, which beat the Reds 2-1 on Matchday 3 as Cesar Delgado scored the winner in stoppage time. Lyon has won all three of its group stage matches, while Liverpool owns only three points and sits three back of second-placed Fiorentina, which hosts Debrecen.

All four teams in Group F are separated by just one point, with Barcelona suffering a stunning 2-1 defeat to Rubin last time out. The two sides will get together again in Russia, while Inter Milan, which has drawn its first three games, travels to Dynamo Kyiv.

Sevilla hosts Stuttgart in Group G and can advance to the next round with a win, while Unirea hosts a Rangers side that was embarrassed at home by the Romanian club last time out and who has earned only one point from three games.

Arsenal sits atop Group H by one point and they will host AZ Alkmaar, which salvaged a 1-1 draw against the Gunners in the Netherlands last time out with a late equalizer. Second-placed Olympiacos trails Arsenal by one point and they make the trip to Belgium to face Standard Liege.
