Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - ARKANSAS STATE: The Red Wolves dropped another tight one, as they were edged, 21-13, by Louisville over the weekend, It marked the fourth loss by eight points or fewer for ASU (2-5, 1-2), which drove to the Louisville eight-yard line in the final moments before turning the ball over on downs. The Red Wolves turned the ball over twice and allowed three sacks, part of the reason they lost the game. Corey Leonard threw for 303 yards and a touchdown, but he completed just 23-of-41 tosses and was picked twice. Brandon Thompkins was the recipient of seven passes and they went for 49 yards and a score. ASU will return to league play this weekend, when it hosts UL-Lafayette in Jonesboro.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC: Despite outgaining Middle Tennessee 478-329, the Owls were unable to come away with the victory, suffering a tough 27-20 setback. FAU (2-5, 2-2) never trailed until the final quarter, when MT used an 80-yard touchdown drive to tie the score and a 74-yard touchdown run to prevail. It was a crushing blow for the Owls, who had appeared on the rise after winning two straight games. Quarterback Rusty Smith threw for 304 yards and a pair of scores, but was picked twice and left the game with a shoulder injury. Cortez Gent hauled in four balls for 53 yards and a score, while Alfred Morris paced the ground attack with 93 yards on 25 carries. FAU also had a field goal and punt blocked, with the punt even being returned 29 yards for a score. The Owls will get a break from SBC play and take on UAB of Conference USA this coming weekend.

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL: Dustin Rivest connected for a 24-yard field goal in overtime and the Golden Panthers blocked UL-Lafayette's game-tying attempt, as it claimed a 20-17 win this past weekend. FIU (2-6, 2-3) forced overtime on a three-yard touchdown pass from Paul McCall to Greg Ellingson with 10 seconds left. The catch capped a 13-play, 69-yard drive that spanned 2:17. The Panthers got the ball first in overtime and settled for a field goal before blocking ULL's 29-yard try to secure the win. The block helped FIU overcome four turnovers and snapped a two-game slide in the process. McCall finished the game with 250 yards on 22-of-41 tosses. FIU will try to continue its moment at Middle Tennessee this weekend.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE: The Blue Raiders pulled one out this weekend, as Dwight Dasher's 74-yard touchdown run with 5:31 remaining gave them a 27-20 win at FAU. MT (5-3, 3-1) had never led until Dasher's run and was outgained 478-329 in the game. However, the Raiders forced a pair of turnovers and returned a blocked punt for a touchdown to help overcome the difference in yards. Dasher threw for just 90 yards in the game, but accounted for 108 of the team's 239 yards on the ground. D.D. Kyles added 140 yards and a score on just 13 carries, as MT captured its second win in a row. The Raiders kick off a three- game homestand this weekend, when they host Florida International.

NORTH TEXAS: Quarterback Riley Dodge totaled seven touchdowns, the second most in school history, as the Mean Green outlasted Western Kentucky, 68-49, in a shootout this past weekend. The 68 points tied for the most points in school history, as NT (2-6, 1-4) snapped a six-game slide. With the outcome, the Mean Green also broke a 15-game conference losing skid and won at home for the first time since defeating WKU in 2007. Dodge finished the game with 262 yards and four scores on 24-of-30 pass attempts, while adding 70 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground. Jamaal Jackson and Darius Carey each pulled in a pair of touchdown passes, while Lance Dunbar rushed for 227 yards and a score on 23 carries. It marked Dunbar's fifth straight 100-yard effort and his second 200-yard performance in the last three games. NT will try to build off last weekend's performance when it hosts ULM this Saturday.

TROY: The Trojans seized control of the SBC this past weekend, using 428 yards of total offense to defeat ULM, 42-21, in a battle for first place. It marked the sixth straight win for Troy (6-2, 5-0), which is the only team still unbeaten in SBC play. Quarterback Levi Brown came up with a big performance, as he hit on 28-of-41 tosses for 378 yards and four touchdowns. His main target was Jerrel Jernigan, who had a career performance with 13 catches for 203 yards and a touchdown. Boris Lee paced the defense with 14 stops and one interception, while Brandon Lang accounted for two of the team's three sacks. The defense also forced four turnovers, with Lee returning his pick 30 yards to paydirt. The Trojans open a two-game road trip this weekend with a visit to Western Kentucky.

UL-LAFAYETTE: The Ragin' Cajuns dropped a tough one this weekend, as they allowed a late touchdown and had a field goal blocked in overtime of a 20-17 loss at Florida International. ULL (4-4, 2-2) held a 17-10 lead with just over two minutes left, but watched FIU drive 69 yards to tie the game on a touchdown pass with 10 seconds left. The Cajuns then limited FIU to a field goal in overtime before Tyler Albrecht had his 29-yard kick blocked. Chris Masson guided ULL in the loss by throwing for 254 yards and a touchdown, while Louis Lee grabbed three balls for 62 yards and a score. The defense chipped in with four turnovers and three sacks, and Daylon McCoy had 12 stops to go with a forced fumble and a sack. Losers of two straight, the Cajuns will try to snap out of their funk at Arkansas State this weekend.

UL-MONROE: In a battle for first place, the Warhawks committed four turnovers and allowed 378 yards through the air to Troy in a 42-21 setback over the weekend. The two teams headed into the game unbeaten in league play, but ULM (4-4, 3-1) wasn't at its best and has now dropped two straight games overall. Quarterback Cody Wells threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns, but he also accounted for all of the team's turnovers, including three interceptions. LaGregory Sapp hauled in six balls for 107 yards, while Darrell McNeal caught a pair of touchdown passes. Tailback Frank Goodin added five catches for 54 yards and he also rushed for 94 yards on 20 carries. The Warhawks will try to bounce back this weekend at North Texas.

WESTERN KENTUCKY - The Hilltoppers allowed the final 26 points, as they came up short, 68-49, in an offensive affair against North Texas this past weekend. The Toppers (0-8, 0-4) gained a respectable 425 yards of total offense, but allowed 583 to NT, including 321 on the ground. WKU was even ahead, 49-42, late in the third quarter before watching NT score 26 unanswered points. Marell Booker ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries for WKU, which still owns the nation's longest losing skid at 16 games. Bobby Rainey contributed 86 yards and two scores on 10 totes, while Tyrell Hayden finished with 84 yards and a touchdown on seven attempts. Quarterback Kawaun Jakes got into the mix as well, throwing for 127 yards and a pair of scores on 14-of-19 pass attempts. Things are only going to get tougher this weekend, as WKU faces league-leading Troy.
