Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - ARIZONA: The Wildcats were not on the field this past weekend, but Arizona will return to action this upcoming Saturday when it hosts Washington State. The last time the Wildcats were on the gridiron the team collected a 27-13 victory over UCLA.
ARIZONA STATE: The Sun Devils allowed a field goal in the final minute of regulation Saturday, and that led to a 23-21 setback to California. Danny Sullivan threw for 244 yards and one touchdown in the loss, but also tossed two interceptions. Cameron Marshall led the ground game for the Sun Devils, as the tailback rumbled for 71 yards and one score on 16 carries. Arizona State surprisingly held Cal to just 57 rushing yards, but the team was torched through the air, surrendering 351 yards and two scores. The Sun Devils will try to grab a win this Saturday when they host USC.
CALIFORNIA: Giorgio Tavecchio only made 3-of-5 field goals on Saturday against Arizona State, but one of the three was the game-winning kick in the last minute of play, as the Golden Bears defeated the Sun Devils, 23-21. The ground game for Cal was surprisingly bottled up, as the team finished with just 57 yards on 1.9 yards per attempt. Jahvid Best was held to just 63 yards on 18 carries. However, Kevin Riley did more than enough with his arm, throwing for 351 yards and two touchdowns. Best, who was held in check on the ground, did haul in seven passes for 61 yards and one touchdown. Cal will try to grab its fourth conference win this upcoming Saturday when the Golden Bears host Oregon State.
OREGON: The Ducks made a statement this past weekend, as they punished USC, 47-20. Oregon racked up 613 total yards, including 391 yards on the ground. Oregon remain flawless in conference play and is currently atop the league standings, threatening to break USC's seven-year string of league titles. La Michael James led the ground game with 183 yards and added one touchdown, while Jeremiah Masoli contributed 164 yards and one score on 13 totes. Masoli also threw for 222 yards and one touchdown in the win over the Trojans. The Ducks will look to continue their strong league play next week on the road against Stanford, as the Pac-10 crown is Oregon's to lose.
OREGON STATE: James Rodgers scored on a 17-yard run in the final minute of action, giving the Beavers a 26-19 victory over UCLA. Sean Canfield threw for 305 yards in the win, but it was Jacquizz Rodgers who threw the team's only touchdown pass. The tailback also rushed for 112 yards on 24 carries, while his brother James rushed for 28 yards and one touchdown. James also hauled in 10 catches for 106 yards, while Jacquizz finished with seven catches on 92 yards. The Beavers will try to remain in the win column next weekend when they battle California.
STANFORD: The Cardinal were not in action this past weekend, but the team will return to the field on November 7th to host Oregon. The last time Stanford was on the field the team defeated Arizona State, 33-14, snapping a two-game slide.
UCLA: The Bruins dropped their fifth consecutive game over the weekend, falling to Oregon State, 26-19. The ground game did very little in the setback as UCLA rumbled for just 51 yards on 1.8 yards per carry. Kevin Prince did most of the damage for the offense, as the quarterback threw for 323 and two scores. Nelson Rosario had a huge game in the setback, hauling in six receptions for 152 yards and one touchdown. The defense was not helpful however, as the unit surrendered 463 total yards, including 319 yards through the air. UCLA will try to snap its losing skid this weekend when the Bruins host the Washington Huskies.
USC: The Trojans' bid for an eighth straight league title took a major hit this past weekend when they were hammered by Oregon, 47-20. It was the worst loss for USC since 1997 and it was the first time since 2001 that the Trojans lost by more than a touchdown. The offense only posted a modest 327 total yards, and that includes just 187 yards through the air. Quarterback Matt Barkley did toss two touchdowns in the loss, but completed just 21-of-38 passes and also tossed an interception. Joe McKnight led the ground game with 95 yards, but as a whole, the team finished with just 140 yards on 29 carries. The most surprising part was the play of the defense, which surrendered a whopping 613 total yards, including 391 rushing yards and four scores on 8.0 yards per attempt. The Trojans will try to bounce back next weekend on the road against Arizona State.
WASHINGTON: The Huskies were not in action this past weekend, but the team will return to the field on November 7th to battle UCLA. The last time Washington was on the field the team suffered a 43-19 loss to Oregon. It was the second consecutive setback for Washington and the fourth loss in the last five games.
WASHINGTON STATE: The Cougars stepped out of league play this past weekend and headed to Texas to battle Notre Dame. However, the team did not fare well in the Lone Star State, falling to the Fighting Irish, 40-14. The Cougars only totaled 206 yards in the loss, and that includes 102 rushing yards on 3.9 yards per attempt. Jeff Tuel was not much better under center, as the signal caller threw for just 104 yards and two touchdowns, but also tossed two interceptions and was sacked five times. Washington State will try to snap its five-game losing skid when the team takes on Arizona on Saturday.
