Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - ILLINOIS: The Fighting Illini produced a season-best 377 yards and four TDs on the ground in their 38-13 rout of visiting Michigan on Saturday afternoon. It was Illinois' first win over a FBS squad this season, and just its second win overall. The victory, coupled with last year's 45-20 win in Ann Arbor, means the Illini have now beaten the Wolverines in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1957-58. It was also the first win for UI over UM in Champaign since 1983. Juice Williams threw for just 123 yards with a TD, but generated 97 yards and a score on 21 carries. The real workhorses for the UI offense, however, were RBs Mikel LeShoure (21 carries, 150 yards, one TD) and Jason Ford (12 carries, 128 yards, one TD). Michigan passed for 264 yards in the game, but lost three fumbles, the time of possession battle by nearly 10 minutes, and converted just 5-of-14 third down tries. Coach Ron Zook's club will try for its first winning streak of the season when it plays at Minnesota this Saturday.

INDIANA: The Hoosiers had undefeated Iowa on the ropes over the weekend, but a furious comeback by the Hawkeyes sent the visitors home with a 42-24 loss. It was Indiana's second straight setback and its fifth in six games after opening the season at 3-0. The Hoosiers led by a couple of TDs midway through the third quarter and appeared as though they were headed for an even bigger lead, but a crazy INT return for a TD sparked the Hawkeyes who scored the final 28 points of the game en route to the wild victory. Ben Chappell threw for 227 yards with a pair of TDs, but he was picked off three times. Indiana rushed for just 79 yards in the game, averaging a mere 2.9 ypc along the way. Damarlo Belcher led the IU receiving corps with six grabs for 89 yards and a TD. The Hoosiers, who came up with five INTs against Iowa (the second-most in a single game in school history), will try to put the disappointing loss behind them as they play host to the Wisconsin Badgers this Saturday.

IOWA: Ricky Stanzi threw a career-high five INTs, but he led the Hawkeyes back from a 14-point, third-quarter deficit as they scored 28 points in the final frame to take the 42-24 home victory over Indiana. As a result, Iowa is 9-0 for the first time ever and has won 13 straight games -- currently second- longest in the nation behind Florida. Stanzi wound up 13-of-26 for 337 yards with a pair of TDs, one each going to Marvin McNutt (four receptions, 155 yards) and Derrell Johnson-Koulianos (three receptions, 117 yards). Freshman Brandon Wegher led the UI ground attack with 118 yards and a career-best three TDs on 25 carries. The Iowa defense was led [once again] by Pat Angerer (12 tackles) and Tyler Sash (seven tackles, 86-yard INT return for a TD), and the Hawkeyes came up with three picks on the day and held the Hoosiers to just 5- of-18 on third-down conversion attempts. Iowa puts its perfect record on the line when it entertains the Northwestern Wildcats this Saturday.

MICHIGAN: The Wolverines were shredded by the run in their recent clash with Illinois, giving up 377 rushing yards in a 38-13 loss to the Fighting Illini. Tate Forcier completed 13-of-23 passes for a career-best 257 yards, but fumbled twice inside the UI 20-yard line. Carlos Brown paced the Michigan run game with 94 yards and a TD, while Roy Roundtree led the receiving corps with career-high four grabs for 92 yards. Mike Williams was the busiest UM defender, logging a career-high 16 tackles in the losing effort. When the dust had settled, the Illini piled up 500 yards of total offense and scored 31 unanswered points in the second half after trailing 13-7 at the break. After opening the season at 4-0, the Wolverines have dropped four of their last five, with the lone win during that stretch coming against FCS foe Delaware State. Next up for the Maize and Blue is this Saturday's home clash with the Purdue Boilermakers.

MICHIGAN STATE: An early 14-point deficit proved too much for the Spartans to overcome as they fell at Minnesota on Saturday night, 42-34. Kirk Cousins hit the mark on 21-of-35 passes for 236 yards with two TDs and an INT, but a total of three turnovers coupled with a mere 23:52 in time of possession hurt Michigan State's chances at pulling out the victory. MSU was outgained by the Golden Gophers, 505-360. Keshawn Martin ran for 84 yards and a TD for the Spartans, while B.J. Cunningham finished with five catches for 83 yards. Once again, Greg Jones was Michigan State's most active defensive player, logging a dozen tackles and one of the team's two sacks on the night. Jones has 109 stops on the season. The Spartans have lost two in a row following three straight wins, and they will try to get back on track this Saturday when they welcome the Western Michigan Broncos to East Lansing for a non-conference affair.

MINNESOTA: Adam Weber threw for a career-high 416 yards and matched his best single-game effort with five TDs, leading Minnesota to a 42-34 win over Michigan State on Saturday night. Weber's effort was particularly impressive when you consider he was without star WR Eric Decker (out for the season with a foot injury) and had to overcome a school-record 17 penalties. In the end, the Golden Gophers rolled up 505 yards of total offense compared to 360 for the Spartans, and they came away with three turnovers and limited the visitors to just 23:52 possession time. Duane Bennett certainly made the most of his two catches (121 yards, two TDs), while Nick Tow-Arnett also had a pair of scoring grabs and combined with Da'Jon McKnight for 12 catches and 179 yards. The Gophers, who stopped a two-game slide with the win over MSU, will play the middle leg of a three-game homestand this Saturday when the Illinois Fighting Illini come to TFC Bank Stadium.

NORTHWESTERN: The Wildcats gave visiting Penn State all it could handle on Saturday afternoon, at least for the first 45 minutes, but then the nationally-ranked Nittany Lions came to life and scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to earn the 34-13 victory. Northwestern QB Mike Kafka was efficient in going 14-of-18 for 128 yards before leaving the game with a leg injury. In his absence, Dan Persa threw for 115 yards, but neither had a passing TD. Zeke Markshausen had nine grabs on the day, and he is now averaging just under 10 receptions per game against Big Ten competition. The 'Cats finished with 371 total yards, but two lost fumbles and six sacks registered by the Lions simply proved too much for the home team to overcome. PSU tallied 437 yards on the day, and even a balanced defensive effort that saw six NU defenders finish with at least a half dozen stops could not stop the team from suffering its second loss in the last three games. The Wildcats hit the road for a pair of tilts, starting with this week's trip to Iowa City and a crack at undefeated Iowa.

OHIO STATE: In a game that was over before it began, the Buckeyes had no trouble disposing of visiting New Mexico State on Saturday, blanking the Aggies in a 45-0 final. Ohio State has shut out three opponents this season, marking the first time since 1996 the team has accomplished such an impressive feat. Ohio State is 53-0 under current head coach Jim Tressel when scoring 30 or more points. Terrell Pryor improved to 15-3 as the team's starting QB, and he throttled the Aggies for 218 combined passing and rushing yards, scoring once on the ground and tossing a TD pass as well. Freshman Jordan Hall rushed 10 times for a career-high 90 yards, while WR DeVier Posey threw the first TD pass of his career in the second quarter, that going to Dane Sanzenbacher. The NMSU defense did little to impact the outcome, as the OSU offensive line did not allow a sack for the second time this season. The Buckeyes, who outgained the Aggies, 559-62, will have a much tougher time this week as they head to Happy Valley to tangle with the Penn State Nittany Lions.

PENN STATE: The Nittany Lions kept their Big Ten title hopes alive by staging a second-half comeback in their recent clash with Northwestern, winning 34-13 in Evanston over the weekend. Penn State trailed 13-10 at the break, but scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to pull out the hard-fought road victory. Daryll Clark, a week removed from Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors, ran for a TD and threw for 274 yards and a score, while WR Derek Moye hauled in six balls for 123 yards and a TD. Evan Royster continued his solid season by rushing for 118 yards and a score in averaging nearly eight yards per carry. Sean Lee led the PSU defensive stand with 12 tackles, and the team as a whole was credited with six sacks. During their current five-game win streak, the Nittany Lions have forced 11 turnovers while committing only two. Penn State will play its 300th game in Beaver Stadium this Saturday, as the Ohio State Buckeyes come to town for what should be a true classic.

PURDUE: The Boilermakers suffered their worst shutout loss since 1992 as they were blanked at Wisconsin over the weekend, 37-0. The Purdue offense was on the field for just over 23 minutes and generated a mere 141 total yards, which was actually less than the Badgers had in the first quarter (150). Quarterback Joey Elliott had a forgettable outing, completing just 5-of-23 passes for 59 yards with an INT. The PU run game didn't do much more, accounting for 60 yards with Ralph Bolden carrying 10 times for 37 yards. Not only was the loss disappointing from an offensive production standpoint, but it seemed as if the team had turned a corner with two straight wins following a 1-5 start. The Boilermakers hope to get back on track this Saturday when they head to the Big House in Ann Arbor for a tussle with the Michigan Wolverines.

WISCONSIN: John Clay ran for 123 yards and three TDs to power the Badgers to a 37-0 victory over visiting Purdue on Saturday. It was the Badgers' first shutout since blanking San Diego State, 14-0, in 2006. In addition to Clay's big afternoon, TE Lance Hendricks finished with more than 100 all-purpose yards, including a career-high 91 yards on four carries. The Wisconsin defense held the Boilermakers to 141 total yards (60 rushing, 81 passing), came up with three turnovers, logged three sacks and was on the field for a grand total of only 23:15. Wisconsin has not allowed a 100-yard rusher during Big Ten play this season. That isn't likely to change this week as the Indiana Hoosiers are next on the docket for coach Bret Bielema's club. Now bowl eligible for a school-record eighth straight season, the Badgers are simply trying to improve their postseason lot at this point.
