Villarreal, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Villarreal, which was winless through the first seven weeks in La Liga, followed its first win of the season with a huge 5-0 win over Tenerife on Sunday at the Estadio El Madrigal. The Yellow Submarines finished fifth in La Liga last season, but sunk to the bottom of the standings on Oct. 18 following a 2-1 loss to promoted Xerez. Villarreal snapped its seven-game winless skid with a 2-1 win over Malaga last week and Joseba Llorente scored twice as the Yellow Subs continued their rise, climbing all the way to 13th. Robert Pires, Giuseppe Rossi and Cani also scored for Villarreal, which scored just five goals during its seven-game winless run. Llorente opened the scoring in the 16th, and Villarreal exploded with three in a seven-minute stretch early in the second half. Robert Pires started the outburst in the 47th, Giuseppe Rossi added another in the 51st, and Llorente added his second of the match in the 52nd. Cani capped the impressive win in the 88th minute. Also Sunday, David Navarro scored in the 69th as Valencia edged Malaga 1-0 and sits fourth, Pierre Webo scored to lift Mallorca to a 1-0 win over Racing and into fifth, Diego Castro Gimenez scored in the 69th to help Sporting Gijon tie Deportivo 1-1, Haris Medunjanin scored in the 90th to help Valladolid draw Espanyol 1-1 and Lafita and Ruben Pulido scored and Real Zaragoza beat Almeria 2-1.
