Edinburgh, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Goals from Colin Nish and Liam Miller in the final two minutes allowed Hibernian to claim a 2-0 win over nine-man Aberdeen at Easter Road Stadium on Saturday.
Maurice Ross was sent off in the 48th minute for the Dons, while Christopher Maguire also received an early exit 30 minutes from time. However, it looked like the visitors would be able to hold out for a point until Nish headed home in the 88th minute and Miller's deflected effort found the back of the net in stoppage time.
The win moves Hibernian into second place, one point clear of Rangers, who will meet Dundee United on Sunday, while Celtic's 3-0 win over Kilmarnock keeps the Hoops three points clear of Hibs.
Aberdeen had the better of the chances in the opening half but a number of cards from the referee promised to make things interesting in the second half.
Sure enough, it was Aberdeen that was reduced to 10 men when Ross picked up his second yellow card for a late challenge on Ian Murray.
The hosts soon began to pile pressure on the Aberdeen defense, and things got even worse on the hour mark when Maguire's hard foul on Kevin McBride brought a second red card from the referee's pocket.
Despite being down two men, Mark Kerr created two chances for Aberdeen as he forced goalkeeper Graham Stack to tip his shot over the crossbar, while a chipped effort from Kerr beat the keeper but settled on top of the net.
The elusive goal finally arrived in the final minutes for the hosts as Kurtis Byrne's cross was nodded home from the middle of the box by Nish, while Miller's long-range effort found its way past goalkeeper Jamie Langfield after taking a deflection off of Derek Young.
Celtic got goals from Aiden McGeady, Georgios Samaras and Niall McGinn in its 3-0 win over Kilmarnock to remain on top of the table, while Hamilton downed St Mirren, 2-0, Motherwell beat Hearts, 1-0 on a goal from Ross Forbes, and Falkirk fell further to the bottom of the table after losing 3-1 to St Johnstone.
