Three share lead at delayed Singapore Open

Singapore (My Sportsbook) - Ian Poulter, Thomas Levet and Kodai Ichihara were tied atop the leaderboard at minus-eight when the third round of the Singapore Open was suspended for the day due to inclement weather.

Inclement weather halted play for the third straight day with the last group only finishing six holes and the lead group on the 17th hole. The third round is slated to resume Sunday at 7:30 a.m. local time.

Earlier Saturday, Poulter polished off a seven-under 64 to take a five-stroke lead after 36 holes. However, he dropped four strokes over the first six holes of the third round to slip into a tie for the lead.

Levet and Ichihara were both two-under through seven and six holes, respectively, before play was stopped for the day.

Andrew Dodt and Wen-chong Liang share fourth place at minus-seven. Both players were two-under through nine holes of round three when play was halted.

Poulter tripped to a three-putt bogey on the first, but more trouble loomed. At the par-five fourth, he found sand off the tee.

The Englishman tried to play a fairway wood from there, but knocked his second into the water. After putting his fourth shot on the green, Poulter three- putted for a double-bogey.

That mistake erased Poulter's lead and play was stopped for the day on the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club before he could complete No. 7.

Levet, who hasn't dropped a shot since the first round, opened with a birdie on the second. He then birdied the par-five fourth for the third straight round to move to eight-under.

The Frenchman was still three back, but thanks to Poulter's troubles, Levet was tied for the lead when play was stopped thanks to four straight pars from the fifth.

Ichihara parred his first three holes before converting a birdie chance on the fourth. He birdied the par-five seventh before play was stopped for the day.

Wen-Tang Lin, Richard Finch and Niclas Fasth are tied for sixth place at minus-six, while Anders Hansen, Ross McGowan, Ernie Els and Graeme McDowell are tied at minus-five.
