Hull, England (My Sportsbook) - Former chairman Adam Pearson is set to return to Hull City after deciding to leave Derby County on Wednesday evening. The appointment will be confirmed on Monday following Phil Duffen's decision to stand down as chairman on Thursday. Pearson returns to the KC Stadium at a difficult time with under-pressure Phil Brown presiding over a relegation-threatened team while it was revealed earlier this week that the Tigers will need to find up to $38 million if they do go down to the Championship. Brown is determined to battle on though, saying after Duffen's departure: "This situation that we're in is just another chapter in Hull City's history. "Whenever you pick up a newspaper, it might be speculation about my position, Paul Duffen's position, or Hull City in general, but I keep looking at that league table and we're still in the Premier League. "I've responded to every challenge that's been thrown at me and I'll continue to do that. "As a manager, your position is always strengthened by results and that's what we're aiming for on Saturday."
